WTF Are We Talking About?

Free episodes:

Radar signatures can be manifested in a variety of ways. There is no evidence that these "objects" are even solid or indeed hollow. This is not a technological issue because there is no evidence to support that.

Look, if you really want to get up close and personal with this phenomenon, just convince Jeff to take you out onto a certain field around 3am sometime and you'll see the light show up close. You'll never, ever want to see it again but whenever you close your eyes at night, for the rest of your life, you'll relive the experience. It's not funny and it has nothing to do with ET's. It will scare you to your bone and there's a good chance you'll never be able to discuss it, because the experience often has a self locking mechanism.

If I were in one of my periodic moods of hopeless despair regarding this subject, I suppose I'd be ready to blow a mental gasket; but since I'm feeling fairly chipper, all I can say is:
Oy gevalt!
God help us all, but I doubt he will.
So it goes.

I suggest reading some Vallee to start... There is no evidence that this phenomena has anything to do with ET - that's just a myth of ages past perpetrated by guys in the field who are 50+

Huh? Is Michael Scala (sp?) over 50? I presume he is a relatively young man and so are others who support the exo-politics view of ufology with seems to rely again on the good old ET view.

And please don't blame guys over 50. Betty and Barney Hill's testimony had a lot to do with the ET scenario, since Betty was supposedly shown a star map that illustrated trade and exploration routes among planets. From our vantage point, this seems like something from a comic book or early Star Trek, but it was the "originators" of the abduction who pushed that explanation onto Betty. She had no real context for where to place it.

If authorities over 500 years ago had a better handle on this phenomena than we do, please do enlighten us to the truth about this, since you seem to think you have it down pat.

Betty and Barney Hill were victims of a sociological experiment conducted by the US Army. It was crude and fairly obvious. They were chosen for a variety of reasons, one of which was to ascertain how the interracial nature of their relationship would effect the credibility of their story. They clearly now have their answer... "Exo-politics" is a complete joke and the results are being carefully monitored as part of a sociological study into how the prevalence of the internet has changed the nature of large scale group belief systems. Sorry to burst the little Green Man bubble on those two points...

This is a psycho-sociological issue.

Or not. You have no proof either way, just like the rest of us. You've had your experiences, done your own reading, come to your own conclusions just like the rest of us.

Psycho-social... that's your pet theory... okay, got it. Have anything else to add to the coversation or are you just going to keep beating us over the head with that particular broomstick all day? I'm not saying you're wrong (although you might be) I'm just saying you've made your point.

As to the WTF part of this thread, no we don't need to abandon any of the current terms in favour of simplification. If science is a model to follow, we should be adding MORE terms, specific ones to pin down particulars, thus making them easier to analyze and critique.

I recommend a reading list -

Vallee
Jung
Greenfield (you're officially up there, Allen.)
Descartes
Kant
Hume

Oh yeah, and maybe a little history in the use of psychological testing methodology by western governments. Roswell, the Hill's, Kecksberg, Rendelsham... all have nothing to do with the truth regarding this phenomenon - they were all psych exercises. The really interesting stuff isn't in the mainstream. You have to dig a little deeper.

You said that already in another board. If you're going to repeat yourself over and over again, we're going to have no choice but to restrict your access to our forums. Please restrain yourself. This is a public request. :exclamation:

(You won't find the answers by reading John Lear, surfing Linda Howe or listening to Boast to Toast, although if that makes you happy, be my guest.)

Ok Gene, relax. I was just responding to the kid's post. It was obviously logically required as part of the answer to his statement. And it wasn't a cut and paste. Therefore it stands as a poignant, intelligent and suitably gloved handed response.

Anonymous22,

Listen, we're largely on the same page, but may I suggest that you catch your breath and calm down, you're peppering these forums with what appears to be reactive posts, and it's not productive. Again, I would tend to agree with you on much of what you post, but your tone needs some work.

Nice assumption. Nice thinking I am unfamiliar with Valee, Decartes, et al. Extra nice thinking I actually take anything that comes off of tasty toast seriously.

I know these things. I still disagree. Get it? No? Tough.

Ok, point taken, I'll try window dressing the truth a little. No sense in deflating the cottage industry of lies too fast. To paraphrase Lennon, I'll dress it with a little honey. And I don't believe I'm being reactive. The folks are reacting to my comments, not vice versa. I'm surprised there are so many Coast to Coast level thinkers in here, could be time to raise the bar, don't ya think?

Anonymous22,

At this point, you're trolling, either calm down or take it elsewhere. You want to behave like a thoughtful person, you're welcome here, pull bully s h i t and you'll be banned.

Folks, Just FYI, I've banned Anonymous22 for a week, due to what we feel is an inappropriate level of aggressiveness. He has been told that if he would like to be a member of these forums, we welcome him, but that he'll have to calm it down a notch.

There was once a man with a fancy-pants BMW. Every morning he would cruise the middle-class neighborhoods of his town with the top down, blasting his expensive stereo.

When people complained about this, he argued, "But I'm only trying to help people and inspire them to work harder!"
