Pixel,

Blues festival? Tae Kwon Do? Photography? Dude, you sound like my kind of guy to be honest with you, and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you've been fragmented as of late.
I'm with you on the Al Gore stuff. I have respect for him, and I was a fan of an inconvenient truth, but after finding that some of his data was skewed, I was disappointed. However, I'm not buying that al of the data is flawed.
I still don't agree with half the stuff you post, but as I've said many times on this forum, that's why I like coming here.

My own brother had a pro AGW website. He produced educational materials on global warming to sell to schools... He has shut down his website and is trying to dump the educational materials at a loss. He has finally figured out the scam too and boy is he pissed. It took me 10 years of talking but he had to find out for himself.

Most of my friends do not know squat about my views on this stuff. When I told some of them about my UFO sighting... well.. I don't recommend anyone do that. You are an instant nut. Brad Steiger was a friend of my Aunt and that is how I got interested in UFOs and paranormal stuff. I LOVE the blues scene and have been volunteering for 9 years at this one. I have worked my way up to Vice President and helped move it to a much larger venue and also added a day to the event. My photography and interest in blues go hand in hand. I have done some very cool photo shoots. I strive for the natural lit shot of a musician at work (play), this is hard to do at night or in a dimly lit bar as flash photography is not my thing. My main lenses are a Zeiss Planar 1.4/85 and a Zeiss Sonnar 1.8/135, I love these awesome hunks of glass! I just used them on Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials this past Saturday.
I have dozens of hobbies, I grew up collecting fossils, hunting, fishing, camping etc, I was one of the first "Mountain Bike" racers and competed in many events including trials riding and ice racing. I got into martial arts in 1975 and opened my own studio 18 years ago. I now have a 4th degree black belt, I taught the local law enforcement basic self defense, knife defense, leveraged restraints, gun retention etc etc... In 1981 I got into blacksmithing and producing my own "damascus" steel for the knives and short swords I made. My skills as a jewelry maker helped a lot in finishing the sheaths and scabbards. I could go on but I do not like talking much about my personal life. My instructor always told me to keep my skills and personal life as I would keep my hand in poker... to myself.

This is boring I know but I wanted you to understand that conspiracies are not the only thing that interest me and I have no time to look over my shoulder.

Peace.

Check this link out to an interesting graph. It shows how they deleted the Medieval Warming and Little Ice Age to make it look like runaway warming. Climategate Update - Wry Heat

Is this science? No, It is fraud. Plain and simple. No wonder Tipper has bailed on Al Gore.

I will try to steer this back on the thread topic with this:

In 1922, New York Mayor John Francis Hylan became one of the first to call out the Anglo-American money powers on their criminal activities—singling out Federal Reserve co-conspirator and Rothschild operative, John D. Rockefeller:

‘The real menace of our Republic is the invisible government, which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy legs over our cities, states and nation. To depart from mere generalizations, let me say that at the head of this octopus are the Rockefeller-Standard Oil interests and a small group of powerful banking houses generally referred to as the international bankers. The little coterie of powerful international bankers virtually run the United States government for their own selfish purposes.
‘They practically control both parties, write political platforms, make catspaws of party leaders, use the leading men of private organizations, and resort to every device to place in nomination for high public office only such candidates as will be amenable to the dictates of corrupt big business.
‘These international bankers and Rockefeller-Standard Oil interests control the majority of the newspapers and magazines in this country. They use the columns of these papers to club into submission or drive out of office public officials who refuse to do the bidding of the powerful corrupt cliques which compose the invisible government. It operates under cover of a self-created screen [and] seizes our executive officers, legislative bodies, schools, courts, newspapers and every agency created for the public protection.

While i think that there is no doubt that man is having an effect on the environment (certainly by poisoning and polluting it) there is no clear evidence as to how much. Both sides of the coin can produce data, at will, that supports their argument. Which is why the one here is so circular, i believe.
This situation has been going on since the seventies and no-one, no major power has done a damn thing to stop it. Even today's Governments worldwide are doing nothing, to very little, to stem the flow of toxins into the earth. Instead we have a giant summit which descended into a embarrassing farce and achieved nothing.
If world Governments were serious about man's effect on climate change they would immediately stop the major polluters in their collective tracks with new and toughened environmental laws that would prevent them from operating in the manner that they do. But, as we know, Governments do not run the world, the corporations do.

This climate change argument is, as in all climate change arguments are highly irrelevant and superficial if no-one is actually prepared to do any thing about it. At this rate we will still be arguing about it while we are choking on our poisoned coco pops! Who cares if man is the major contributor or not. If it's caused by the Sun or some natural cyclical Earth event then we are powerless to prevent it, we can only plan and prepare for what it may bring. If it is caused by man then at the very least man and his governments are doing bugger all to stop the poisoning. You and me, the people are not the major cause, Big Industry and its puppet Governments are. If we as voters are content with allowing the current situation to continue then we suffer the consequences.

Coins are usually circular... :P

But, as we know, Governments do not run the world, the corporations do.

Seperating the two is becoming increasingly difficult. Or as Lewis Black put it: "As time goes by we've come to realize that big business and government are sleeping together. We always sort of suspected they were but now they're just blatant about it. They're like two dogs going at it on the front lawn and not even the hose can discourage them!"

If we as voters are content with allowing the current situation to continue then we suffer the consequences.

Therein lies the rub. We do not elect CEOs or Bank presidents.

Quite correct. In Australia at the moment there is a mining and resources boom which has seen the companies concerned more than triple their profits in the last 5 years. One CEO has increased his wealth from $2 Billion to $12 Billion.
The government has now decided that it wants a piece of this by significantly increasing the tax on the mining sector. The mining sector has reacted to this by mounting an unprecedented media campaign warning of the potentially fatal effect that this tax will have on current and future ventures. And as it is an election year there has been significant pressure placed on the Government to back down. Time will tell on that one.
This sort of situation indicates to me that if our government was to say pass legislation forcing our industry to make their operations 100% clean and safe which of course would cost billions of dollars, we would see a similar campaign and possibly see the government back away from such.

Corporations run the world not government its been that way since the Ducth East Indie Company which many of the political thinkers of the American War of Independence leaders were stake/share holders until Queen Vic took over in 1850s. Governments are only there for its citzens once every three years on voting day:)

Corporations and Governments are not mutually exclusive. Cynicaly you could look at governments keeping the masses in check and providing fodder with corporations controlling/plundering resources, all to supply an elite few.

If this is the case then there is no will to solve global warming as it will only effect the fodder who the elite feel could do with a good Kull.

Wake up people and start holding them to account.

Do not let up on BP and the disaster they have caused.

Do not let oil companies stilfle greener technologies.

Challenge the high price of solar energy solutions.

Challenge things that are passed off as green tech that actually do more harm to the environment.

The internet can be used to make changes - communication is the key - spread the word and keep digging for the truth.

When you talk about corporations running the world, it's interesting to look at the direction of the space program, where more and more work is being outsourced and privatized.

Soon, corporations will be running things off-world as well.

Still needs sorting though as there will be a disaster (going all AJ here)

If you have a growing population that takes up more space it is logical that they will be forced into more undesirable environments to live with more pressure on limited resources.

tick tick tick..... BOOM

I am a believer in tech as an answer - if only it was deployed.

The irony of rising sea levels and more people being thirsty.

Passing shot - What is E.T. short for >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> cos he's got little legs lol

Tech is cool. Tech is not better than Earths own defenses.
Sea levels rising or falling is nothing to be worried about.

May 23, 1933, Congressman, Louis T. McFadden, brought formal charges against the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve Bank system, The Controller of the Currency and the Secretary of United States Treasury for numerous criminal acts, including but not limited to, CONSPIRACY, FRAUD, UNLAWFUL CONVERSION, AND TREASON.
“Mr. Chairman, we have in this Country one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks, hereinafter called the Fed. The Fed has cheated the Government of these United States and the people of the United States out of enough money to pay the Nation’s debt. The depredations and iniquities of the Fed has cost enough money to pay the National debt several times over.”
“This evil institution has impoverished and ruined the people of these United States, has bankrupted itself, and has practically bankrupted our Government. It has done this through the defects of the law under which it operates, through the maladministration of that law by the Fed and through the corrupt practices of the moneyed vultures who control it.”
“Some people who think that the Federal Reserve Banks United States Government institutions. They are private monopolies, which prey upon the people of these United States for the benefit of themselves and their foreign customers; foreign and domestic speculators and swindlers; and rich and predatory moneylender. In that dark crew of financial pirates there are those who would cut a man’s throat to get a dollar out of his pocket; there are those who send money into states to buy votes to control our legislatures; there are those who maintain International propaganda for the purpose of deceiving us into granting of new concessions which will permit them to cover up their past misdeeds and set again in motion their gigantic train of crime.”

McFadden was a conspiratorial nut and an anti-Semite. While Chairman of the United States House Committee on Banking and Currency, he blamed Jews for president Roosevelt's decision to abandon the gold standard, and claimed that "in the United States today, the Gentiles have the slips of paper while the Jews have the lawful money." When McFadden ran for the presidency in 1936, one of his slogans was “Christianity instead of Judaism.” He encouraged Hitler's attempts to destroy the alleged Jewish control of the German economy, media, education, and professions.

If you're going to quote from him, you should direct people to a speech where his entire viewpoint was laid out:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/16502353/Congressional-Record-June-10-1932-Louis-T-McFadden/

This is not to defend the Federal Reserve... rather, it is merely to place McFadden in the proper context, and give readers here all the information, not just a selection, so that they know who he was, and the odious views that he represented.

When I see stuff like this, I can't help but think that Nick Pope and I should have spent more time on the currents of anti-Semitism that lie beneath paranormal and conspiracy "research."

After McFadden had finished his rant in the House, Senator Benjamin Strong of Kansas gave the following pertinent rejoinder:

"There is a disease that afflicts mankind which is very vicious. It warps the judgment, it narrows the vision, it even causes men to see red, to make mountains out of mole hills. This disease has sometimes been referred to as B.A. Ladies may refer to it as "tummy" ache, but out in the wide-open spaces men call it the "belly" ache, and I know of no man of my acquaintance that has this disease in so violent a form as the gentleman from Pennsylvania, Mr. McFadden. I have not the time to refer to the many charges he makes against the Federal Reserve system, but I call attention to the fact that for 12 years he has been the chairman of the Banking and Currency Committee of this House and did not see fit during that time to remedy any of the evils of which he now complains. It seems to me entirely out of place to wait until he is retired as chairman of that great committee and then assault all of the institutions of which it has control." [Congressional Record, June 1, 1932 to June 11, 1932]

Bingo.

So we throw the baby out with the bath water? McFadden was not the only one to expose the Fed for what it is then OR now. Feel free to remove McFadden from this equation totally and you still have the Fed ripping off this Nation then and now. It is a planned destruction of this economy and also those over seas.

Bingo? Hardly.
